Here are three ways to spend your government stimulus check if you haven’t already.

  1. Buy plants for your home workspace or office. Studies show that plants make us happy, and happiness means more productivity. Plants in the office can increase productivity by as much as 15 percent. 15 percent equates to 1 hour and 12 minutes of an 8-hour workday. We’ve kindly done the math, and that’s 36 days per year!
  2. Get some exercise equipment that you’ll use. Now many of us can exercise before, after, or in the middle of the workday. Researchers say exercise during the workday helps increase productivity and regain concentration. So, $1,200 spent on exercise equipment that gets you excited to work out will help your body and your work.
  3. Improve your nutrition. Better nutrition increases productivity by decreasing absenteeism and improving worker stamina, positivity, and stamina. Hangry-ness is a real thing. Slightly increase your monthly food budget to accommodate healthier options.
